Center Director Pinellas

Mr. Sam Kolapo has over 25 years of Job Corps experience in varied progressively-increasing
positions of responsibility. He is a proven Center Director for over 12 years, and served in varied
centers to include Gulfport, Bamberg, Gainesville, Albuquerque and Little Rock. Currently, he is
the Center Director for the Pinellas County Job Corps Center, in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Mr. Kolapo began his Job Corps career as an academic instructor and served in progressively
responsible positions including Career Counselor, Academic and Vocational Manager, Student
Support Manager, Career Services Manager, Career Development Director, Deputy Director; and
ultimately as Center Director. Mr. Kolapo understands all facets of center operations and
management.

As Center Director at the Pinellas County Job Corps Center, he is responsible for the oversight
and overall management of the career development services program serving 277 students. He
is a member of the St. Petersburg Chambers of Commerce and St. Petersburg WIOA Board.

As Center Director, Mr. Kolapo provides strong leadership through positive oversight of daily
center operations. He is student-focused and understands that meeting the needs of our
customers (students, employers and Department of Labor) is the key to success. He develops a
professional and safe environment in which students are able to model appropriate work skills
and behaviors to include development of personal responsibility especially in the requirements
of safety.

Mr. Kolapo attended the University of North Florida and graduated with a Master’s Degree in
Industrial Education.
